BOTANICAL DYED FRAYED LINEN NAPKIN IN PALE PINK
A luxurious linen napkin made from heavier weight fabric dyed using only natural, plant-based materials. The thicker weave of this fabric and the perfectly imperfect frayed edges add texture and give these luxurious napkins a very relaxed feel. Perfect as a styling prop, a smaller kitchen towel or as a table napkin, these delicate yet hardwearing napkins can be put to work in a variety of different settings. The soft pale pink colour is achieving using a madder root plant bath. Native from the Middle East, madder is one of the oldest dye plants that has been used to create a variety of red pigments for centuries.
Our Botanical Dyed Linen range is made from finest Irish linen and crafted with utmost care for the environment and attention to detail. Designed and hand-dyed in small batches in the Kathryn Davey design studio which is run from the heart of Dublin, Ireland. The studio has a strong commitment to working with natural materials and ethical and sustainable practices.
The pure Irish linen fabric is woven by second-generation weavers of the last surviving Mill in the South of Ireland. Each piece of fabric is carefully sewn and prepared to absorb the natural pigments of the plant dye through a process known as "scouring". The dying process starts with a tea bath and is followed up by plant dye baths that vary in ingredients depending on the desired colour. Following each bath, the linens are washed with eco-friendly detergent and fabric softener before they are finally pressed ready for use.

Variations in colour are to be expected due to the natural dying process of these items. We celebrate these differences as part of the inherent qualities of handmade items and we hope you do too.
Care: Our Botanical Dyed Linen range will only become softer the more it is used and washed. To preserve the quality of the linen wash cold with similar colours and line dry. Though our linen products can be tumble-dried on low, line drying is better for the linen and the environment.
